: : thats interesting, possibly the oil flow at the filter cap, the flow through the cooler and the flow through the bypass is different at different oils, possibly the bellray oil is more liquid at the working tembereature tha the "hot oil" and you have mor flow trough the cooler circuit and this can be the reason for the lower temperature.
: : regards muhgruss stefa
: My bike doesn't use a oil-cooler.
: Maybe these oils do a better job at loosing their heat, I don't know i'm not an oil engineer.

the temperature capacity and the time the oil needs to take the heat will be the same. no additives can change these chacteristics of the basic oil. only the flow characteristics, cleaning attribute, aging and so on can be influenced by special "belray" additives. anyway.

: How many miles did you drive your bike ?

It`s a `92 PD, black, 156.000km up to now, to get more "cow" character to the engine (to make the engine "kuhiger"), I changed a few month ago the piston (now RS piston) and installed the 320° HPN camshaft. it is great! during the following 150.000km I will have much more fun.
and your GS?
regards, muhgruss stefan
