Thank you for the reply - is it possibloe to send me a picture showing how the tank fits on the GS/PD - if you look at http://www.cascademassage.com/r100pd.htm that is what my bike is like now.

: I did not change the fuel tank myself, but you have to modify the sideparts of the cockpit and the pipe holding the cockpit. Lookout for modified parts here:
